Is The Truth About Six Abs Worth The Money?

Find out if this much talked about abs training guide is actually going to work for you, or waste your time and energy instead...

The Truth About Six Abs

The Bottom Line: this program will work only if you work it. It's not magic. It won't shed pounds of fat magically. Your abs won't appear unless you have a low body fat percentage. It won't give your superhuman strength.

It will give you some killer ab workouts to give you the best abs you've had in your life, and it will give you the guidance to burn fat quickly. But you've got to put forth the effort!

The truth is, there's no end of products out there today that promise us a flat stomach and ripped abs in no time at all. And people fall for these inflated promises--not just buyers, but also sellers--and before you know it, a new internet sensation has hit. What I'm saying is that just because a product is popular doesn't mean that it's any good.

This creates a giant cloud of smoke where it's hard to get the facts about a product because every man and his dog is actually trying to sell you something.

I have no problem with this, IF the product IS actually worth buying. So, instead of wasting any more time, I decided to actually go ahead and buy the The Truth About Six Abs and see for myself if it was all that it has cracked up to be.

I've picked out the good, bad, and ugly with this program, and I hope this helps you to a make a more balanced decision. I know how frustrating it is to get bombarded with continuous sales pitches.

These are the bonuses that I received but only because I went for the deluxe package. There's obviously a lot of content packed in here, but whether it's valuable or not remains to be seen.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Lots of content

You're first presented with the typical direct sales page. That is, a lot of big, bold colors, highlights, customer comments, and the like. Personally, I don't mind this so much, but only because I'm fairly experienced about reviewing sales pages and knowing what to look for and what the warning signs are. I know that it scares some people off though.

Here's why they do it: because it works! The worst product in the world can be sold through a good sales page. In this case, The Truth About Six Abs is a very good product, but it's not "magic" like many would lead you to believe.

But back to my motivation for trying this program . . .

I've never been able to get six-pack abs. At least, not since I was a teenager, and those "skinny muscles" probably don't count anyway! Even so, I was still was convinced that there was a solution. After all, abs are not a myth, they are clearly obtainable and we see them all over the place. Just like you, I wanted to know how to get a six pack for real.

My first impression was that this was a solid guide backed by a lot of evidence, and it was carefully constructed by the author. But there was a lot of information. I know a lot of people are expecting a secret formula to get abs, but they won't find it here. WHat they will find is a methodically and carefully constructed plan to lose fat and build abs over time. This will not happen quickly unless you already have a low body fat percentage. You can have the biggest, strongest ab muscles, but if they are covered in a layer of fat, you will not have a six-pack.

Two other initial points to note:

  • The Truth About Six Abs is equally suitable for men and women alike
  • The author points out that "You do not need to do all of these exercises and use all of the equipment mentioned in order to get the results that you desire

As I began to get into the meat of the guide, I can tell that the real truth about this system is actually that you will need some time and discipline, which is to be expected. So if you read anywhere else that you can get abs overnight then I'd love to see how.

The underlying message here is that the Truth About Abs is set out to dispel the myths about weight loss and help you to eat right and exercise in a way that suits your needs. It's not so much about becoming a world class body builder, but instead getting lean body mass so that your abs show through naturally...only then can you decide if you want to work on the muscle building from there on out.

This is probably why 60% of buyers of Truth About Abs are women ...because there is a stronger emphasis on weight loss as opposed to bulking yourself out. Makes sense really, as we all have abs...it's just the fat that covers them which is the problem...so if we can get rid of that flab then we're going to automatically see a toned stomach as a result.

BUT DOES
IT WORK?

Encouraging words...

There's quite a lot of material getting you prepped up before you actually get into specifics, and even when you think you're about to get into the actual core, you're hit with a pre-motivational section.

I actually think this is a good thing personally because it really puts you in the right frame of mind for getting the most of of this course. Again, it's clear just from reading this that Mike Geary is determined for you to make this work for you, by making sure you take action and stick to this system.

I like the fact that he points out "There's no such thing a poor genetics, no such thing as no time..." Although I'm still not convinced of this fact. I truly believe that some people are born with the ability to build mass. I've never been a grower, even when I was extremely fit.

So with all due respect to the author, I'm going to disagree somewhat with this statement. I will agree that everyone can get some measure of benefit from this program, but I also still hold firm to the belief that some are genetically predisposed to see much better results than others.

Forget what you thought about food

We immediately move onto diets and nutrition. Mike points out the importance of this section being just as (if not more) important as any exercise you'll ever do. I totally agree before even trying out the system. After all, what good is exercise if we eat 8000 calories per day?

This section is intense. You'd be amazed at how much there is to discover about eating right, but Mike lays out the hard facts about the food industry and what you've been led to believe about insulin, carbs, fats, sugars, whole grain and so much more.

This is a real insight and made me think twice about the stuff I was cramming into my fridges and cupboards, merely thinking I was doing the right thing as per the media and those flashy magazines.

What amazed me was the part about eating the right fats to make you thinner! I'm not sure if you've heard of such things before, but I soon realized how little I knew about nutrition.

Mike goes into greater detail about fad diets and why they not only don't work (why do you think there are so many released each year?) but why they are essential damaging to your health. Personally, I was never a fan of diets anyway, but I have tried the Atkins diet and a low carb diet before and ended up with a whole range of side effects such as poor sleeping habits, mood swings, low concentration and all kinds of aches and pains.

My advice is, whatever you decide to do please just avoid the temptation of fad diets...they're just not worth it!

Overall, the diet and nutrition section is more than adequate to finally resolve the myths about eating right, but thankfully doesn't come in the form of some strict regime or precise plan. It literally re-educates you on food and nutrition, so that you can shop more wisely and eat more sensibly without having to munch on rabbit food or lentils.

A biology lesson

Once you've got through the food nutrition section (might take a while, but worth it considering that it's the building block to weight loss), you're entered into a biology lesson...

This section is all about how abs are developed, and kinds feels like I am back in school with all the diagrams and scientific talk!

To me, this section is pretty in-depth and although I can understand why we're taught about this, I do feel a little bored reading through this. Some of this I was tempted to skip through, but I didn't because there was some important info on body positioning. Then as you keep reading through you move onto new chapters which actually explain why certain abs routines don't work, along with recommended exercises.

This is where it starts to get meaty and the program really starts to kick in.

Although there's been a lot of reading up until now, Mike does a good job of laying the info out in a way that makes sense and flows in the order that you must learn it in. As we approach the end of chapter 5 we're starting to get actual lists of good and bad abdominal exercises, along with real life pics of Mike performing them.

These are really clear and are accompanied by simple instructions so that you know what you're doing.

I started these at home, but there was one that I couldn't do properly in my house which was one of the leg raises because you need to have a pull up bar, which I've got...but you need space above the bar to make it work properly, otherwise your legs hit the ceiling!

I actually found all of the other abs exercises to be really easy to do and didn't need any fancy equipment to do them. However, although I could definitely feel the effect these were having at the time, I couldn't say the exercises alone were anything you've not seen or heard of before.

The workout routines

With that in mind, after you've read through the pics and instructions you're hit with the routines that Mike recommends which incorporate these exercises.

It's good that he provides various levels, as I was ready to move on from Level 2 which I started out on almost immediately (but that's because I am impatient lol).

I'd say that these workout routines are pretty easy going at the early levels, but you soon start to feel the intensity as you progress. Just don't rush it like I did. They are not exactly groundbreaking workout routines, but still...it's obvious that there's so much more to a lean and toned body than what goes on at the gym, as you'll see for yourself if you read this guide.

Metabolism and calorie burning busted wide open!

Mike then has a section on metabolic training and why we see so many people slogging away on treadmills and other cardio exercise equipment and complaining about getting no results. I often spent hours busting my guts and reaching a point of almost feeling sick, with nothing but a fat gut to show for it.

This part of the guide was a real eye opener for me personally, as I am sure it will be for others too. In reality, the answers are a little more complicated than you'd like to think and be prepared to get a complex lesson before you're shown the kind of exercises that you should be doing.

On a side note, one thing I did notice about Mike's book is that you'll get a serious chunk of the theory and education upfront, which is ok if you've got some time to read and learn, but what I liked is that all of these sections of learning are followed by specific routines that you can literally just pick up and run with immediately.

So, although you might be put off by the serious amount of content, if you're in a rush you can skim over some of this stuff and get right into the actual practicalities that he lays out at the end of each section.

An awesome round up

If you've stuck in there and reached chapter 11, then you'll be pleasantly rewarded with the killer K.O of getting a lean body and toned abs...where Mike sums up everything you've learned from attitude to nutrition, cardio to weights...leaving you with a really powerful system that is summarized in chapter 11 for total convenience.

Mike uses bullet points to sum up all of the technical stuff so that you "get it" right away and can reference it easily. (I actually printed off this section, you might want to as well).

At this point, Mike unleashes more advanced full body workouts designed to shed fat from your entire core. Again, I've seen most of these exercises in magazines but when you approach them in the way Mike teaches you, things start to take off all on their own and you'll see a difference from day one.

Why? Because not only are you able to follow one of the most in-depth guides to working out and eating right, but there is no theory or fluff...just solid, real world advice from a guy who clearly knows what he is talking about.

Finally, you've got some additional tips and an FAQ section which I found useful...especially the part about eating after 7pm and what you can/should eat to avoid piling on the pounds.

BAD POINTS

One of the things I think put me off a little at first was the sheer volume of information that I was confronted with after downloading the material. I'm not a big reader and I kind of wanted to get started right away.

For some, this is not a concern. They are the ones who are interested din the facts and evidence supporting the instructions. But others just want to get started right away. Fat Loss 4 Idiots is probably a better program for those folks, but then they'd miss out on the workout plans in this package, which are actually quite effective.

I also thought that a lot of the exercises were nothing new or special, many of them I had seen before in magazines. However, the program's effectiveness is supposed to hinge on the combination of exercises, rather than just the exercises themselves.

Apart from these points, the only other thing I would say is that it would have better to have this information presented in either an audio format or video. This is just my personal preference, but I do think that it would make for better learning, especially if you're not a big fan of reading.

My biggest complaint actually has to do with the disparity between the magic that is implied on the sales page and the facts that are in the actual program. The sales page paints a rosy picture of the benefits that you'll get, but the fact is that this is a solid, scientific program, and you have to put forth effort to get those kind of results. This is an obvious point, but my complaint is that the sales page really glosses over this fact, leading many buyers into believing that this program will work for little effort.

GOOD POINTS

I would have to say that the nutritional guidance is an eye opener. When you see the truth about what you should and shouldn't feed your body, the whole mystery about why it's so hard to lose weight and keep it off is all of a sudden a little more clear.

The value for money here is tremendous, particularly considering all the bonus material you receive. In fact, if you follow the guide properly and make a conscious effort to see it through for long enough, you'll likely not even need the bonus guides.

I'm really happy with the results so far after just a few weeks. I can feel changes mentally more than anything, but indeed the scales are beginning to drop bit by bit (I've lost about 7lbs so far and I didn't even hit the gym yet) and that's an awesome feeling.

But I also have to admit that I didn't try this program in isolation. I reviewed two products: one concerned solely with fat loss and this program, so I'm combining the principles a bit. The fat loss program I'm using is called Fat Burning Furnace. All-in-all, it reminds me of the Truth About Six Abs. It's a competent program, nothing earth-shattering, it doesn't';t live up tot he hype of the sales page, but it's a good program nonetheless.

WHO'S IT RIGHT FOR?

I think this product is suited to people with more drive than the people who only hit the gym after Christmas. I think you need to have a genuine desire to get fit, lose weight and get a six pack.

Although the exercises are clearly aimed at getting a six pack, you need to realize that essentially this guide is all about losing weight and sustaining muscle mass (instead of losing muscle like some fad diets will make you do).

If you hate reading to any extent, then I would probably advise you to steer clear. Although I may be a bit harsh for saying that, I honestly feel that if you're not prepared to learn the truth through reading a fair bit of info, then this guide is not for you.

But having said that, I've seen my fair share of videos on abs and weight loss and none of them cover the info that Mike Geary does in The Truth About Six Abs. So you've got to make that decision - Do you avoid it because you don't like reading or do you just bite the bullet and learn some solid, groundbreaking info on weight loss?

For those willing to apply themselves and give themselves a chance to change their lives, then this guide is truly the most comprehensive and solid advice on getting fit, with a lean and toned body all round.

I think this guide could have simply been called "The Truth About Weight Loss", because essentially that's what you'll discover. Of course, once you start losing the weight while maintaining your energy and blood sugar levels, you'll not only feel great mentally but you'll start to see those abs pushing through pretty quickly indeed.

SUMMARY

The Truth About Six Abs is not for the faint of heart. Do not buy this guide if you're not prepared to change your old ways and actually sit down first and learn the, well, truth.

The fact is, this guide is a beast and contains so much content that you could spend days reading it before even getting started. But the truth is that even from the very first chapter where Mike explains the importance of mindset, you just know that not only are you about to learn some fundamental lessons that will allow you to finally start shifting excess fat and toning up, but you're also going to learn things that will stay with you for life.

In other words, this isn't just some quick fix book on "working out". This is a total U-Turn on what you thought you knew about eating right (not dieting or eating less), along with one of the most comprehensive plans to working out the right way, not the hard way.

I've been working through some of the routines and following Mike's advice on nutrition as much as I can for a few weeks now.

I have to admit that it's hard to change your ways in a snap, which probably suggests why Mike really drives home the importance of your mindset right from day one, before you even get started.

My weight is dropping slowly, but more to the point I actually feel more energized and confident. I can't possibly see how you would fail to get a six pack abs (or at the very least a lean body) whilst using this system.

I admit that I probably won't apply everything Mike teaches, because I simply don't like going down the gym all the time, but to be honest that leaves about 90% of the course which I can still do from the comfort of my living room.

You might need to invest in a couple of cheapish pieces of equipment if you do decide to do everything at home, such as a pull up bar, a medicine ball and possibly some floor grips.

You certainly don't need a full home gym to make this work for you, just pick out the stuff that doesn't require gym equipment and you'll be fine.

The main benefit I found was the nutrition and general eating advice. I was totally shocked at how mislead the general public are, and once you've digested what Mike explains, you could probably lose a lot of weight just from following this advice alone...without exercising!
